The PBC experience happens in the midst of a thriving local church. That means every student gets the opportunity to immediately apply what they’ve learned in the classroom with real life ministry opportunities. From day one PBC works to help every student understand the various passions, talents and gifts God has created them with.
Portland Bible College’s mission is not simply to educate the next generation of leaders with the knowledge of God’s Word, but to help each student experience and apply that truth to life, now. It’s now that God is calling you to impact your culture. Training happens best in the context of doing. One of the greatest opportunities that students have during the year is to serve at the many conferences hosted by City Bible Church, including Generation Unleashed and the Thrive Conference. Everyone has the chance to put into practice their ministry skills as they are called on to pray at the altar, serve in whatever arena they are needed, and are also able to hear from world class speakers such as Jentzen Franklin from Free Chapel Worship Center, Georgia; Rachel Hickson from Heartcry Minsitries, England; Kevin Conner from City Life Church, Australia; Jack Hayford from Church on the Way, California; Brian Houston from Hillsong, Australia and a host of other guests. In every strata of society – politics, business, media, church – Portland Bible College has made a commitment to partner with every student to help them develop their gifts and callings in the context of real life ministry.
